“DANVILLE" 2017 for the City of Danville, Virginia

The village of “Wynne’s Falls” was renamed “Danville” by the General Assembly in 1793 with the reputation of being the “World’s Best Tobacco Market.” Danville is known as the “City of Churches” because it has more churches per square mile than any other city in the State of Virginia. Notable people depicted in the print are Harry Wooding, Wendell Scott, Dan Daniel, Camilla Williams, and Lady Astor.
